Weekend Do-Over

The weekend started out on a fun note -- all the boys playing with Luke's floor gym!
I wanted to show off Luke in his kangaroo onesie that Brent brought back from his trip to Australia earlier this year. So we had the grand idea for this weekend to paint David's bedroom. By his request, he wants a spaceship-themed room. Of course, I was multi-tasking and threw a load of laundry in the wash -- leading to flooding the laundry room from an overflowing washing machine for the third time for me now (just ask my mother-in-law! I flooded her house twice in the first 6 months of marriage.) After getting that mess cleaned up, Brent spilled the gallon of blue paint on the platform bed and carpet in David's room. Check out the blue spot -- took 5 hours to clean up!
This afternoon, I found a live coral snake (venomous) swimming around our pool. After multiple phone calls to Brent, he agreed to come home early to remove it from the pool before we pick up David from preschool. I still have the heebie-jeebies knowing that thing is swimming in my pool!!

All I can say is welcome to Florida! You never know what kind of critters you'll find in your house. One morning I woke up to find a lizard going for a swim in our toilet. Being the Cali girl that I am I canlled Dave at 5 am in Nevada to see if he knew how to get it out. Another night I hear a scratch, scratch, scratch in my kitchen above the exhaust fan over the stove. Apparently a critter went in through the vent on the roof and got stuck in there. I'd love to say your snake will be the last but I doubt it!

Yuk...you know how much I hate snakes...sends shivers up my spine!
We had a "critter" the other day..a road runner out by the jacuzzi! I'll take a road runner over a snake any day! Be careful...fix that screen!!!

Snakes and alligators - oh my! Melissa is a native Floridian but I am not so sure she is accustomed to the fauna!

what is it with you and washing machines? :-) I just hope you don't have an alligator in your pool next week. If that happens, make Brent call animal control!
