Another new trick!

On Wednesday Feb 25th, Luke started a new trick - sticking his tongue out (at us). At first we thought it was pretty cute, but then Brent started to get offended that Luke was sticking his tongue out at him so much. On Friday March 6th we figured out why when Luke popped out his first tooth on his right upper gum. No pictures of the tooth so far, but we are working on it.

Uh-Oh!

A few weeks ago I discovered Luke in a few precarious positions. He had managed to pull himself up in both his bassinet and crib, so we have since dropped the mattresses to the lower level in both. A few days later, he pulled up onto all fours. Then only a few days after that started to crawl -- now he is fast and constantly moving. Nothing is safe! A few things have been moved, the outlets covered and the pool fence installed!

Luke's First Boo-boo

A couple weeks ago, Luke had his first boo-boo and received his first band-aid. David's rendition: "Mommy kicked Luke!" (First thing he said when we walked into the baby room at daycare.) Mommy's rendition: "I was walking in front of Luke as he was sitting up and fell forward onto my foot. My toenail scraped his forehead but my foot caught him from doing a faceplant!" Needless to say, Luke was smiling about it a few minutes after it happened.

Birthday Party #4

We decided to celebrate David's birthday on Saturday March 7th right after lunch so that he could enjoy his presents for the remainder of the weekend. Mommy made her version of a volcano cake (mmmm... chocolate cake). David was so thrilled with all of his presents, especially his new backpack and lunch bag which he packed up and stashed in the car so he would be ready for school on Monday. Luke fell asleep despite all of David's excitement.

Birthday Party #3

On Friday March 6th, after the prior weekend at WDW, I brought cupcakes to school for David's birthday. He wore his "Happy Birthday David" pin and received a birthday balloon. He became shy while his friends were singing HBDTY song and enjoyed a chocolate cupcake complete with a cool compass ring!! (The cupcakes originally were Hannah Montana, but Mommy fixed that pretty easily!)

ANTS!!!

David finally received his ants in the mail for the ant colony he received for Christmas. He and Brent set it up and then the next day pulled out the dead ants. Luke wanted to get in on the action as well!

Birthday Dinner #2

At the end of our day at Animal Kingdom (Sunday), we went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner before driving home. We were still smiling at that point, except for David did not get the volcano cake he wanted for his birthday surprise.

Mt. Everest Expedition

My vote for the best roller coaster ride is for the Everest Expedition! It rocks!! David went on it 4 times during the course of our day at Animal Kingdom (twice per parent).

More MK Pictures

Here are a few more pictures of our fun day at Magic Kingdom. Both kids fell asleep on my lap on the bus ride back to our hotel at the end of the day!

David & Kaylee at WDW

David & Kaylee enjoyed spending time together at both the Magic and Animal Kingdoms. We danced in the streets, went on rides and saw wild animals. We also laughed a lot - just ask Sarah about her daughter's chipmunk fetish!

Birthday Dinner #1

We met my friend Sarah with her family (Sean & Kaylee) for a birthday dinner complete with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore & Piglet. Luke loved all the characters especially Tigger. We had lots of fun getting autographs, hugs and pictures. David and Kaylee both celebrated their birthdays with a pirate and a princess cake, respectively.

Mickey's Picture

We took David on a surprise trip to Disney World for his birthday. The first day we visited the Magic Kingdom and the thing he wanted to do most was go see Mickey Mouse! As we waited in line, David drew Mickey a picture which he gave to him.

March 14th

Look what David & Brent did on March 14th (and 15th)!

The weather has been very warm here lately. David said the pool was "super cold" and Brent said it was "chilly." That didn't stop them from jumping in again on Sunday the 15th as well.

3...2...1... Blast Off!

We went to watch the shuttle lift-off from an area just south of Gainesville. A 20-minute drive got us a beautiful view but no sound. We will definitely plan on future shuttle viewing expeditions!
